Swimming Survival course is developing for everybody who is swimming in the sea, river or doing aquatic sports. The intent of this course is to teach you specialized aquatic techniques for swimming survival in all kind of situations. The survival swimming skills, techniques, and procedures outlined in this course are applicable to teach personnel how to cope with unique aspects of survival in the water. Water survival training experts have developed these procedures to enable swimmers to cope with life and death factors, cold water, darkness, negatively buoyant equipment, restrictive clothing, rough seas,rivers , how to swim efficiently, how to abandon ship, how to swim underwater, rough seas and much more.

Raluca Steblea

Raluca Steblea, ROU

Raluca Steblea is a former swimmer, professional athlete and international, European and national swimming coach who achieved top results at the European level. She enjoys a variety of sports including competitive swimming, triathlon, skiing, scuba diving, freediving, and surfing. She has a Bachelor Degree in Physical Education and Sports, and is NAUI certified for SCUBA and is a certified Rescue SCUBA Diver. She also has military SCUBA diving training experience, enjoys free diving, snorkeling at various reefs around the world and survived a severe storm at sea and an 18 meters underwater incident.
She has coached swimming for more than seven years earning the respect of many coaches around Europe for her top results in the Romanian junior programs. She has been an Aquatic Program Director, Head Coach and Aquatics Teacher in Europe and the Middle East.
Out of her love for the water and seeing the growing need to teach others to swim safely and to educate them about the hazards inland, and off the coast. She has developed a global best-practices Swimming Survival Program out of her experiences in the military and from her SCUBA diving and training around the world.
Steven V. Selthoffer

Steven V. Selthoffer, USA

Steven is a former U.S. swimmer trained by U.S. Olympic coach, Dr. James E. Councilman, Indiana University. As a lifeguard, Martin gained experience on the beaches sides, rivers and Hotels as well as working ad Honored for the Argentinian Red Cross´s lifeguard school as a Rescue Techniques co Instructor.
Mr. Selthoffer was a national ranked swimmer and record holder and has coached a number of Olympic, European and national swimmers over the course of his career.
He was selected as the SOCOG Commentator for Swimming for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and was the first non-European member of the LEN (League Europeanne Natation) Press Commission. He was also the only non-German selected by the German NOC (DOSB) for the German portion of the Athens 2004 Olympic Torch Relay.
Mr. Selthoffer is the European Columnist for Swimming World Magazine. He is considered a leader in high performance training, anti-doping and in fighting corruption in sports.
Selthoffer began his career as a senior lifeguard in the Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Pool System outside of Washington, D.C. He is credited with over 50 registered saves/pull-outs in his career. (Pool and Ocean totals). He is also a white water guide having canoed or rafted the major North American rivers including the Colorado, Arkansas, Snake, Ausable, Bear Creek, Eagle and Green Rivers.
In Africa he has navigated the Zambezi River, one of the top three most challenging, white water, day trips in the world.
Martin Navarro

Martin Navarro, ARG

Martin is a former swimmer with participation in many national and international Open Water competitions. He has more than 10 years in the Water Safety Industry.
As a lifeguard, Martin gained experience on the beaches sides, rivers and Hotels as well as working ad Honored for the Argentinian Red Cross´s lifeguard school as a Rescue Techniques co Instructor.
As a senior flight steward for Emirates Airlines, Martin developed his experience in safety regarding airline procedures, contingency response courses, posttraumatic stress release techniques and rescue techniques in case of ditching.
Martin love for the water is growing day by day, and in order to share his many years’ water survival techniques, he joined Swimming Survival team.

Swimming Survival 1.0

Safety Oceans 2.0

Safety Oceans it is a children’s education program, consists of lectures, discussions, videos, and seas stories. The curriculum covers the basics of oceanography, marine biology, conservation, and water safety, swimming for survival. Students learn how waves, tides, currents, and plate tectonics affect the health and vitality of marine creatures living in and around these sensitive ecosystems. Sharks, sea turtles, marine mammals, endangered species and other related topics are also covered. The mission of the Safety Oceans 2.0. course it is to reduce the risk of children drowning.
